It is with great enthusiasm that I share AMISA’s renewed strategic direction. I say “renewed” because, while there are newly articulated elements, much of what is conveyed has always been-and continues to be-at the heart of our association’s work. Before I share our aspirations and how we will work for the schools we serve in the Americas, I would like to provide a brief overview of the process we used to develop our renewed direction, a few highlights from our plan, and an invitation to watch a short video.
AMISA’s Strategic Planning Process
Over the past several years, we completed a tremendous amount of work on our past strategic goals. Recognizing our accomplishments, we determined it was time for us to review our strategic direction and establish new goals to guide us into the future. Next we selected a consultant, AMISA’s Platinum Partner Notosh, to help us with our work. In September and October the AMISA Board of Trustees invited all AMISA Heads of School to participate in “Listening Sessions” as well as a written survey regarding AMISA’s services and the direction of our Association. The results of the survey and “Listening Sessions” informed the Board’s strategic work. The Board then came together for a work session in Cartagena, Colombia where our new Strategic Direction was developed. Next, the entire AMISA team spent extensive time reviewing our Strategic Direction and now we are proudly sharing it with our entire AMISA community.
