Our Student Centered Coaching program is in its third year at Academia Cotopaxi. Our coaching team, in partnership with our Administration team, are working to establish a culture of coaching. After attending the AASSA conference inservice with Diane Sweeney at Nido de Aguilas in Chile, we were inspired by the video Nido uses to promote their Student Centered Coaching program with their teachers. Together we looked to create a video that would help teachers understand the purpose and approach within a coaching cycle at Academia Cotopaxi. Because we have coaches working across subject areas with teachers from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12, our video helps us have a cohesive coaching program. The coaching team also meets regularly to collaborate, develop tools, and reflect on our coaching practice.
