Join us for “Prepared to Lead: From Fear to Empowerment in Student Travel,” a free live webinar for school leaders, educators, and chaperones who want to approach off-campus learning with greater confidence, clarity, and shared responsibility.
Whether students visit a local museum, participate in an overnight domestic program, or travel internationally, preparation involves more than an itinerary, permission slips, and a chaperone binder. It requires thoughtful policies, clear expectations, effective communication, and educators equipped to make decisions when circumstances change.
Led by Glen Turf, Founder and Principal of Saudade Global Pathways, this webinar draws on more than three decades of education experience, including work as a teacher, senior school administrator, and global education leader. Glen brings an educator’s perspective to the challenges schools face in balancing learning experiences with student safety and institutional responsibility.
Together, we’ll explore practical ways to assess your school’s readiness, identify gaps in current practices, and strengthen the training, policies, and systems that support students and staff beyond campus. Topics will include chaperone preparation, shared decision-making, communication and escalation, and the relationship between educational purpose and duty of care.
Participants will consider questions such as: Are responsibilities clearly defined? Do chaperones understand when to act independently and when to seek support? Do written policies reflect everyday practice? How can school leaders support consistent preparation across different types of off-campus experiences?
The goal is to help schools move from uncertainty toward informed, proactive leadership. Participants will leave with questions to guide internal conversations and practical starting points for strengthening their approach to off-campus programs.
This webinar is designed for anyone involved in planning, approving, supervising, or supporting student travel and experiential learning, including administrators, global education directors, teachers, chaperones, and business office staff.
Join us to help protect students, prepare educators, and strengthen your school’s practices.
Suggested Audience: Heads of School, Principals, Global Directors, Experiential Learning Directors. Curriculum Coordinators, Athletic Directors
