TIPS FOR SUCCESS
At the AMISA Job Fair, it’s important to make the most of the opportunity. Here are some tips for a successful job fair experience:
-
Have copies of your resume on hand and be prepared to answer questions about your experience. Recruiters will have access to your AMISA file, but having hard copies of your resume could help you stand out.
-
Review your AMISA profile and ensure all information is up to date before the Job Fair. Most recruiters will review Candidate's AMISA file prior to the event. This will help employers get a better sense of your qualifications.
-
Be open-minded and don’t limit yourself to just one type of job. Consider positions and countries you may not have initially considered. This could open up some great opportunities for you.
-
Dress professionally. It's important to make a good first impression. We suggest that you wear shoes that will allow you to walk comfortably to different rooms on campus. Some interviews will be held in classrooms in a building separate from the gym.
-
Research each school before attending the Job Fair, and come prepared with questions.
-
Make sure to follow up with each employer you interview with after the job fair. Sending a thank you email or follow-up letter will help you stay on their radar.
