DAY 1 LEARNING SESSIONS

Forecasting the Future: Major Global and Regional Shifts and Trends Facing Our AMISA Schools
Ian Symmonds will share his observations about the major shifts and trends that will likely impact our schools, ranging from curriculum planning, culture and identity, inclusion and social justice, delivery, assessment, finance, philanthropy, and enrollment management.
The Future in Focus: A SWOT Analysis for AMISA Schools
Ian will lead participants through a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) to identify the major opportunities and threats to exploit, mitigate and navigate for the future.
Institutional Leadership and Governance: The Leadership Model is Tired and Broken -- How to Reinvent and Modernize Our Leadership Model in Schools
Ian will discuss the current state of leadership in our schools, what is working and not, and propose best-in-class methods needed to reinvent, reinvigorate and modernize our leadership model for the future.

Market Leadership: If You Are Not Leading, You Are Following -- How to Lead and Position in Your Market
Scenario Building: Designing Creative Strategies to Advance Your School
Ian will lead participants in a creative design session aimed at identifying and articulating potential strategies and scenarios to leverage strengths, address challenges and advance your school.
Planning for an Uncertain Future -- Building both Durable, Innovative, and Responsive Strategies
In this final session, Ian will lead participants in a true planning session, using the work from prior sessions, where they focus on developing and finalizing strategies to return to their school.
All sessions will include an integrated view of inclusion, access, social justice, and diversity as inextricably linked to strategy.
