About the Event
“We must be guardians of spaces that allow students to breathe, be curious and explore.” - Brené Brown
This 8-week Series is designed to support educators in creating braver and safer classrooms. Using tools and concepts from Brené Brown’s methodologies, educators will explore their role in developing and fostering courage in the classroom as well as the skills and processes students need to practice courage.

Creating a Safe Space
Learn tools and resources for establishing agreements with students, classroom norms and ongoing practices to create and maintain a safe space for students to breathe, be curious and explore.
Vulnerability 101
Unpack the myths of vulnerability, establish a shared definition of vulnerability and discover how vulnerability shows up for you and your students.
Vulnerability 102
Explore vulnerability avoidance tactics and why they’re so tempting.
Navigating Shame
Discuss and unpack shame as well as how it shows up for you and students.
Fostering Connection
Develop and strengthen skills to support students feeling seen and heard in the classroom.
Living into Values
Support students in choosing authenticity over pleasing, perfecting and performing.
Operationalizing Trust
Develop ways to talk about trust and share behaviors that build and bust trust.
Building Resilience
Develop and share a process for bouncing back from failure, disappointment, heartbreak and “face-down” moments.
