We are happy you will be joining us for the 2023 AMISA Educators' Conference. Below you will find important conference information to help you prepare for arrival in Guatemala. Aside from exhibiting as a partner, registration includes access to conference keynotes and workshops, as well as conference meals.
CONFERENCE TRANSPORTATION
AIRPORT & TRANSFERS

The largest airport in Guatemala City is GUA - most participants will fly into this airport

Partner Exhibitors are responsible for arranging transfers to and from the airport to the chosen hotel
TO AND FROM THE HOST SCHOOL

Busses will operate on a route between the school and the designated conference hotels each morning and each afternoon for all participants and partner exhibitors

Participants are responsible for their own transportation if they are not staying along the route passing by the designated conference hotels, or if they do not take conference transportation during designated operating hours (taxi and UBER are options)
CONFERENCE HOTELS
A list of conference hotels can be found HERE. These hotels have offered a special rate for AMISA Educators' Conference participants. Book as soon as possible, as rooms are on a first-come first-served basis. Partners should contact the hotels directly with any questions.
CONFERENCE MEALS
Lunch and coffee breaks are included in the conference registration for the three days of the conference. There will be vegetarian options each day for those that do not eat meat protein; however if you have a specific dietary need, please email Terri Williams at terri@amisa.us.

DAILY COFFEE BREAKS

There are TWO 30-minute coffee breaks Days 1 & 2 and ONE 30-minute coffee break in the morning on Day 3

Participants will visit Partner Exhibitor tables to learn more about our Partner products and services
LUNCH TIMES

Partner Exhibitors may eat lunch with participants and use that time to network

Some participants might also use lunch time to visit Partner Exhibitor tables, so if there are more than one representative you might consider dividing responsibilities
CONFERENCE EXHIBITOR LOGISTICS
REGISTRATION

Registration will take place at The American School of Guatemala the morning of March 29th starting at 6:45am
SET-UP & TAKE DOWN TIMES
-
Set-up will begin on Tuesday, March 28th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
- The first Partner Exhibitor and Participant interaction will be 9:30am on March 29th
- All tables should be set-up and ready to receive participants by 9:30am on March 29th
- Take-down of tables is after 10:30am on Friday, March 31st
EXHIBITOR TABLES

One or two 6ft tables and two chairs will be provided
-
Partners must bring own tablecloth or table covering (none will be provided)
-
Pop-up displays must be able to fit on top of the table or behind the table
-
Tables may include product and service printed materials, takeaways, etc.

Tables will be marked with company name/logo
-
Tables will have access to electrical outlets
-
Charging stations will be available on campus
MONITORS/DISPLAYS
-
All Partner Exhibitors are responsible for bringing any electronic monitor or display should they choose to use one at the table. Displays will not be provided nor be able to be rented during the conference.
WIFI ACCESS
-
WIFI access will be available for all partner exhibitors within the school complex
CONFERENCE SHIPPING
We have arranged to work with the school directly for those wishing to send materials to the conference site ahead of the conference. Partners must work directly with the school on logistics - Dalila Paz and Pamela Samayoa at the following email: psamayoa@cag.edu.gt and amisa23@cag.edu.gt. Please make sure to take note of their shipping deadline. It is important that any materials be shipped as early as possible to avoid any unforeseen delays.
CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
Partner exhibitors are welcome to submit a proposal to present a workshop at the conference. Workshops must be directly aligned to the conference theme in order to be considered. Partner Exhibitor workshops must be focused on professional learning and are not opportunities to promote company products and services.

CONFERENCE HEALTH & SAFETY
Participants attending the conference agree to a shared commitment of maintaining a safe learning environment for all attendees by practicing host school health and safety measures. These protocols may be updated prior to the conference as needed. More detailed information will be sent prior to the conference to all registered participants.
