About the Event

Many international schools across the global aspire to facilitate learning that cultivates graduates who are innovators, change makers and world shapers. However, often absent in that pursuit, is the intentional practice of equity and justice. In his fight against white supremacy, James Baldwin said, “not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” This learning experience will provide participants the opportunity to face and deeply examine the ways in which their organization can and must shift towards a more equitable, just and humane practices that move us towards a better world.

Through sustained engagement, this learning community is designed for participants to build the knowledge, skills and self efficacy to both identify necessary shifts in their organization and build the systems required for sustainable growth.

Using the Knoster Model for Complex Change, participants will be guided through a collaborative process that examines where systems of oppression live within a school community and how to transform said systems. Participants will engage with a number of research based methodologies and frameworks and leave the course with a detailed action plan for their community.
